4 Day Sahara Adventure from Marrakech to Merzouga Via Agdez
📅 Day 1: Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Agdez
Set off on a captivating 4-day journey from Marrakech to the majestic dunes of Merzouga, traveling through the scenic route of Agdez and the lush Draa Valley. This adventure offers a perfect blend of culture, nature, and desert exploration, taking you through ancient kasbahs, palm groves, dramatic canyons, and the golden Sahara.
Program :
Depart from Marrakech in the morning in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle with your driver-guide.
Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the breathtaking Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with stops along the way for panoramic views and photos.
Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aït Ben Haddou, where you will explore this historic fortified village known for its unique earthen architecture.
After lunch, travel to Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert, before continuing south to the peaceful village of Agdez, located at the entrance of the Draa Valley.
Dinner and overnight stay in a charming guesthouse or riad in Agdez.
📅 Day 2: Agdez → Draa Valley → Zagora → Alnif
After breakfast, journey through the stunning Draa Valley, home to one of Morocco’s longest palm groves and dotted with traditional kasbahs.
Continue toward Zagora, a historic desert town and former caravan stop.
Travel deeper into the desert landscapes toward Alnif, passing through remote villages and rocky desert plains.
Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel or riad in Alnif.
📅 Day 3: Alnif → Erfoud → Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, continue your journey toward the Sahara.
Pass through Erfoud, known for its fossils and date markets, before arriving in Merzouga, where the impressive dunes of Erg Chebbi rise on the horizon.
In the late afternoon, embark on a camel trek across the dunes to your desert camp. Enjoy the beauty of the Sahara at sunset.
Arrive at your camp and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, followed by Berber music under the stars.
Overnight in a desert camp (standard or luxury option available).
📅 Day 4: Merzouga → Atlas Mountains → Marrakech
Wake early to experience a magical sunrise over the dunes.
After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4 vehicle, then begin the journey back to Marrakech.
Travel through diverse landscapes with scenic stops along the way.
Arrive in Marrakech in the evening, marking the end of your Sahara adventure.
